Lighting the Torch

July 6, 2011

In Romans 11:11-24, the Apostle Paul explains the relationship of the Gentile to the Jew and, thus, the relationship that should exist between Christians, Jews, and the nation of Israel.  As Christians, we understand that Christ came first for the Jew, and then the Gentile.  Romans 11:17, specifically, teaches that “…you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree…”  As such, Israel and God’s Chosen People hold a special place in our hearts.

The continued support for the State of Israel (as well as Jews everywhere) springs from that belief, as well as the belief in the primacy of Western Civilization.  As in centuries past, the ideals which shape the West are under attack.  Almost since its inception, the forces of Islam have sought to invade, lay siege to, and subjugate, Christians, Jews, and everybody else.  Securing hegemony in the Arabian Peninsula and surrounding environs by the early 8th Century, Muslim forces crossed into Europe and invaded Spain, moved into France and Italy, marched into Austria, and put designs on Hungary, Russia, and Greece.

As the Industrial Revolution brought the West to the forefront of the world stage, Arab Muslims receded to North Africa and the Middle East.  Since the turn of the 20th Century, Arab Muslims have focused on Israel and, in the last 50 years, the West.  All of this is not news to those abreast of national and international affairs.  However, it is a good reminder of the adversary we face.

We face immigrants who choose not to assimilate.

We face Islamist front groups, such as CAIR, MPAC, MAS, MSA, ISNA, etc, operating freely within our borders in action against us.

We face government leaders who refuse to face the reality of the threats before us.

We face a determined foe who will not back down.

We face a fight for the survival of Western Civilization.

This blog is committed to shining a light on the threats we face.  As we are taught: the light drives out darkness.

It does indeed seem to be ‘a fight for the survival of Western Civilization.’
